For The DIY Bride | Wedding Wisdoms | Virginia + Charleston, SC Wedding Photographer | Sarah Houston Photography

I love crafts. Not the messy-macaroni noodle and feather kind...but the ones that create really pretty works of art, sorta. So I wanted to write a post for the DIY bride, because if we can all save a little money when it comes to the decor part, then why not!!

I was a bride once (5 years ago in September) my wedding was the epitome of DIY. Everything was made at my kitchen table the day before!

With that said- your floral arrangements can be made from flowers bought at your local market:) I made my bouquet for my first styled shoot from roses I bought from Safeway & I spent a total of $28 and it was really lovely!

The baby's breath that I used here and there in the bouquet didn't cost much either and it really photographed beautifully! I honestly had no idea what I was doing-but the photograph above shows y'all-if I can do can do it! It dried really pretty as well and I still have it in my office (for my ode to my first styled shoot-hahaha!)

So when it comes to DIY-not only can you do place settings and other details like that-you can also create your own florals on a budget! total cost of the above bouquet? $28.00. Safeway definitely takes the win for this one! You can also get really pretty florals from Costco, Whole Foods & Harris Teeter!

I've included a lovely DIY bouquet tutorial from my all time favorite wedding blog (besides Southern Bride) Green Wedding Shoes (click this link)  to help inspire you!

Happy flower making y'all!
